The Selvanic Forest is your first real test. Beneath an impossibly dense canopy, where even light must ask permission to enter, this shadowy expanse is a realm of secrets, echoes, and quiet power. The trees stand ancient and knowing, their roots tangled in the whispers of souls long passed. Step carefully—this is a place that remembers.

At the heart of the forest, nestled in a clearing like a jewel in the dark, lies Helios Castle. Its towering dark stone walls and stained glass windows gleam with hidden meanings, their patterns shifting ever so slightly when you're not looking. Encircling the castle stand Aspen trees with turquoise leaves, shimmering faintly as if caught between worlds.

Your guide through this enigmatic realm is Karim, a sleek and impossibly poised Pharaoh hound whose presence alone commands respect. He is gracious, observant, and alarmingly perceptive—so don’t bother trying to hide anything. He already knows. Whether he greets you with warmth or measured silence depends entirely on you.

Step into The Mountains of Ourea—where the air is brisk, the peaks are unforgiving, and even the boulders have opinions! ⛰️
"Cold air, warm company, and liquor with a bite."
Breathe deep—the air here is crisp, clean, and slightly laced with the scent of stone and snowfall. Towering, jagged peaks stretch endlessly, dusted in frost, while hardy purple coneflowers bloom defiantly in the rocky terrain. These flowers—famed for their healing properties—thrive in the harshest of conditions, much like the souls who pass through here.
In a green clearing between two of the highest peaks, you’ll find Timolous, the boisterous and blustery gate guardian who is literally carved from the mountain itself. A rumbling landslide of booming laughter and shifting rock, he greets every traveler like an old friend (whether you are one or not). Getting past him requires strength—not of body, but of will. If you flinch at a little cold or a steep climb, he’ll make sure you stay long enough to build some resilience.
Timolous isn’t alone, though—his towering moss-covered trolls roam the mountains, guiding lost souls and ensuring the dead don’t turn back when the ascent gets hard. Among them is Bjarni, a troll of few words but many bottles. When he’s not hauling boulders or watching over the peaks, he’s brewing his infamous mambushu, a liquor with a bite—literally. Unlike Earthly habushu, which contains pit vipers, Bjarni’s version is made with black mambas who slithered into the realm looking for souls to steal. Trapped in bottles, they coil and glare, their venom now a key ingredient in a drink that can burn even the dead.

DESERT

The biting cold gives way to the unforgiving blaze of The Zerzura Desert! 🏜️
"Not all who wander are lost. But if you are, good luck."
If you’ve made it this far, congratulations—you’re about to have your soul judged. Welcome to The Zerzura Desert, where the sands stretch endlessly, the air shimmers with heat, and the only thing standing between you and eternity is a colossal Egyptian temple looming in the distance. This is where Anubis himself awaits to conduct the Weighing of the Heart—an ancient ritual that determines whether you move forward… or, well, in a downward spiral to regeneration.
Your welcoming committee consists of Ashbu, the hippigdogamus gate guard, a creature best described as brutish, baffled, and always slightly hungry. He’s big, he’s slow, and he doesn’t ask a lot of questions—which is great, unless you’re trying to talk your way out of judgment. He may not be smart, but he’s stubborn, and if Anubis told him to guard the temple, he probably won't until he's had a nap.
And speaking of downward—behind the temple, the cracked desert floor abruptly breaks apart, revealing the Sea of Fire, a churning inferno where the unlucky don’t move forward, but instead descend. It’s best not to stare too long at the flames… something might stare back. If your heart is lighter than a feather, congratulations! If not… well, it’s been nice knowing you.

✨ Zerzura Desert Fun Fact: Some souls try to run across the sands before their judgment. None have ever made it past Ashbu. Not because he stops them, but because they always get lost and somehow end up right back at the temple.

Dip your toes in the molten sands of The Sea of Fire! 🔥
"Look, but don’t touch. Actually, don’t look either."
Beneath the seething wasteland of The Zerzura Desert, beyond the threshold of judgment, lies The Sea of Fire—a realm of eternal heat, shifting infernos, and molten tides that never rest. Here, waves of lava crash against scorched-black shores, sending embers spiraling into the air like ghostly fireflies. The very ground beneath you crackles, whispering of those who have passed before… and those who never left.
There is no breeze here—only the roar of the flames and the distant groans of the unworthy souls trapped below. Some say if you listen closely, you can hear the final words of those who thought they could escape their fate. (Spoiler: they didn’t.)
The Sea is not merely a place of punishment—it is a force, a presence, a hunger. It does not judge, nor does it forgive. It simply burns.
 
✨ Sea of Fire Fun Fact: If you’re still standing after this, you might want to rethink your life choices. That is, if you still have a life to rethink.

Quite the opposite from the Sea of Fire, the air is cool, yet never quite calm. Step into the shadowed depths of The Underground Tombs, where the echoes of eternity whisper through a spiraling tunnel carved by time and memory.

"A passage through the past… if you dare to look."

Unlike the chaos above, this place hums with something quieter—whispers of the long-departed, the weight of buried secrets, the slow trickle of fate itself.

At the heart of the tunnel flows the Gyoll River, its dark waters pulsing like a vein through the stone. Ra’s boat glides across it every night, ferrying him past the imprisoned Apophis, the writhing, hate-filled snake who embodies chaos and destruction. His prison is woven from ancient magic, but his presence curdles the air, warping the shadows of those who pass too close.

Lining the banks of the river, ornate sarcophagi rest in quiet splendor, their stone faces frozen in time. Though the bodies within have long since faded to dust, their jeweled relics remain untouched—save for one cunning rat, who alone delights in the glittering spoils of gold, gemstones, and gleaming trinkets.
 

✨ Underground Tombs Fun Fact: The Gyoll River has never run dry, nor has it ever truly flowed. Some say it is not water at all, but a stream of lost time, forever looping, waiting for someone foolish enough to drink from it.

For those brave, desperate, or just plain lost, welcome to The Caves of Sibalba—the most treacherous and unnerving stop in the Afterlife. Unlike other realms, this one is not meant to be visited… but for those who find it, the journey begins underwater.
Your entrance? A cenote of inky blackness, still and inviting—until you dive in and realize you’re not alone. The waters teem with ancient, razor-clawed water scorpions, relics of an era when even the gods feared what lurked below. Swim fast, stay silent, and maybe—just maybe—you’ll reach the caves without feeling a pinch.
Once inside, you’ll find yourself in a dank, twisting labyrinth where the walls breathe with sorrow. Literally. When Apophis escaped his prison and unleashed The Day of Darkness, he dragged countless souls down here, affixing them to the stone itself. Their moans of dread still echo through the tunnels, a chilling symphony of regret and warning.
At the heart of this abyss stands a miniature replica of the Temple of Kulkulkan, once Apophis’ throne. Though abandoned, its serpent carvings still hiss, and some say his presence lingers—watching, waiting, listening for those foolish enough to linger too long.
But if you’re here, it’s likely for one reason: escape. Hidden somewhere in the maze of twisting tunnels and half-flooded cenotes is a passage leading back to Earth—but finding it requires more than luck. The caves shift. The paths change. And those who take too long to decide might just find themselves affixed to the walls instead.

If you’ve reached The Field of Reeds, congratulations! You’ve survived the Afterlife’s whispers, flames, floods, and existential horror, and now stand at the threshold of eternal paradise. This is the realm where only those with pure hearts, unburdened souls, and a feather-light conscience are allowed to dwell—a land of golden fields, endless bounty, and eternal peace.
But don’t get too comfortable just yet.
Standing between you and everlasting bliss are the final gate guards—a pair of fearsome wendigos, creatures of ravenous hunger, razor-thin patience, and a flair for breaking spirits. If you thought the trials before were tough, this is where the Afterlife pulls out all the stops. Here, you will endure the hardest tests of all—tests of willpower, morality, sacrifice, and self-truth. Because paradise isn’t just given. It’s earned.
Pass the wendigos' trials, and you step into eternity’s embrace, where the rivers are sweet, the fields stretch forever, and all that you have ever loved, lost, or longed for is waiting. But fail… and, well, let’s just say the Afterlife has plenty of exits, and not all of them lead where you’d like.

Throughout history, the most dangerous thing a human could possess was knowledge. A hidden name. A sacred ritual. The Gate Guards of the Afterlife were entrusted not only with guiding souls, but also with protecting knowledge too powerful for mortal or divine hands. Ancient messages were woven into impossible codes — scrawled onto stone walls, carved into Ferrier collars, embedded into the whispers of dying gods. These ciphers protected forbidden maps, dangerous artifacts, and truths that could unravel the balance between worlds. 

And you, visitor… have stumbled onto them.

What you find here are not simply puzzles. These are fragments of the Afterlife’s most forbidden knowledge. Solving them may reveal long-lost Afterlife artifacts, hidden messages from the Caretakers, or even the location of the next Caretaker’s soul. Are you clever enough to break the Afterlife’s code?

STEALING SOULS

Apophis grows stronger with every stolen soul he devours, feeding on their essence to fuel his ever-growing power. His devious tactics for stealing souls from the Ferriers are as cunning as they are relentless.

He commands his minions, young black mamba snakes, to slither through the shadows, rounding up wandering souls before they can be safely guided.

Even more insidious, he tears open wormholes into the Astral Plane itself, striking with precision to snatch souls right from the grasp of the Ferriers, leaving them helpless as their charges are ripped away into the depths of his dark dominion.
